Nature

For some campers, this was a first opportunity to be out of the noise of the city and appreciate the peace and sounds of the woods. Girls were surrounded by trees, mountains, water, open sky, plants, animals, and insects on our beautiful camp site in Stokes State Forest. From swimming and boating on the lake to walking through the woods, Girls were encouraged to experience their natural surroundings throughout the day. Our Nature Specialist also gave small pointers about how to spot wildlife and recognize the sounds of birds and other critters, whose homes we shared during our week at Camp Sojourner.
