“A leadership skill I will take home is making sure everyone has a spoken voice—when doing an activity, if some person is quiet, I’ll ask them what they think of the topic.” M’niyah, age 12

“I learned to be more directive and I will try to start asking for what I want. I appreciate that our counselors didn’t hesitate to let us speak or tell us their thoughts on how to solve a situation.“ Layla, age 15

“I learned that nature is a beautiful, breathing creature that we need to survive. I learned that it’s sometimes okay to want to be alone, but a team is like a family, and together we are stronger. I learned to step up and not be afraid to speak your mind and help out or change something, behind the scenes or out in public.” Saalihah, age 12
